An IATA CR82 crate is crate meeting requirements for canines, both some domesticated breeds, as well as coyotes, wolves, etc.
Some airlines require them for “dangerous dogs” – the list of breeds varies per airline, but usually include the pit bulls like dogs (American Pit Bull, American Staffordshire, Bull Terriers, etc), mastiffs, Togo Argentinos, Preso Canarios and the like. In other words, dogs who have a reputation.
There are 2 types of CR82’s – a customs build wooden crate or a metal crate. Both are meant to be indestructible, and escape proof. Both are expensive. The wooden type have very specific requirements for construction including being wire mesh lined and double doors. The aluminum metal crates are available from several distributors, and Airborne Animals usually has a couple larger sizes on hand, since most of the breeds will require a large, extra large or giant size.
